Each team should consist of 3-4 students (10<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0to 12<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0grades). A faculty advisor per high school is needed as well for teams to compete in the competition. The faculty advisor can be school teacher or counselor. There is a limit of 6 teams per high school.<\/li><li><strong>Requirements \u2013\u00a0<\/strong>The Contest is conducted 100% online at PVAMU virtual trading platform (stocktrak.com)\u00a0which is web-based trading program and accessible by phone and tablet. Each participated student should complete the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/edu.stocktrak.com\/pvamu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/16\/2022\/09\/parent_permission-form_2022.pdf\">Parent Permission Form<\/a> and submit to the faculty advisor. Then faculty advisor can scan the completed form and email to the organizer, Dr. Yi Zhang (<a href=\"mailto:yizhang@pvamu.edu\">yizhang@pvamu.edu<\/a>).<\/li><li><strong>Registration Period<\/strong>\u2013The registration starts on September 19 , 2022 (Monday) and ends on October 17, 2022 (Monday). The Prairie View A&amp;M University reserves the right to limit or turn off registrations as it deems necessary. The faculty advisor needs to register the team and input team member information on the competition website. All fields on the registration page must be submitted. Once the advisor registers and creates the account for the team, then team members can use the information to log in the account to make investments. Advisor should not be involved in the investment decisions.<\/li><li><strong>Trading Period<\/strong>\u2013 The trading period is 8 weeks which starts from October 17, 2022 and ends on December 9, 2022 at market closing 3pm Central Time.<\/li><li><strong>Prizes \u2013\u00a0<\/strong>Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 teams. The ranking of the teams is based on portfolio return measured by the change in value since the initial date. Only eligible teams that follow all the rules, including completing financial literacy lesson, will be eligible for prizes. Eligible teams with the top three portfolio returns at market close on December 9, 2022, will receive $1,000, $800 and $500 respectively. Also each student in the winning team will receive a certificate and the team will receive a trophy. Participated teams will be invited to the <strong>Young Investor Symposium<\/strong> in conjunction with Award Ceremony in Spring 2023 and prizes and certificates will be awarded at the Award Ceremony. <\/li><li><strong>Initial Amount available for trading<\/strong>\u2013 $500,000 virtual dollars<\/li><li><strong>Eligible Securities<\/strong>\u2013 U.S. Exchanges traded Stocks and ETFs\u00a0with minimum price of $3, bonds and mutual funds<\/li><li><strong>Commissions<\/strong>\u2013 Each trade will incur a broker commission fee of $10 which will be subtracted from the participant\u2019s virtual cash balance.<\/li><li><strong>Interest<\/strong>\u2013 You will earn interest (1% annually) on positive cash balances in your account.<\/li><li><strong>Buying on Margin:<\/strong>\u00a0No (The maximum amount you can invest is $500,000)<\/li><li><strong>Short Sales:<\/strong>\u00a0No (You cannot sell security which you don\u2019t own and then buy back to cover your position)<\/li><li><strong>Day Trading:<\/strong>\u00a0No (Cannot buy and sell the same security on the same day.)<\/li><li><strong>Maximum Position Limit for each Trade:<\/strong>\u00a020% ($100,000) \u2013 You can invest a maximum of 20% of your portfolio value in any one stock or ETF.<\/li><li><strong>Minimum Number of Trades during Competition: 10<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Maximum Number of Trades during Competition: 300<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Last day to start trading<\/strong>: <strong>November 14<\/strong> &#8211; to qualify for the prize, team should start trading no later than November 14, 2022.<\/li><li><strong>Financial Literacy Lesson<\/strong>: There is a financial literacy lesson which includes articles and videos on basic financial and investment literacy topics.
